Credit card

Hi there,

I am starting my new job in 2 weeks today. I am currently employed full time anyway but I just have a quick question.

I am wanting to apply for a credit card (to transfer existing debt over to) and when it asks for my job, I'm not sure whether to put my current one or my new one. With my new job I am earning quite a bit more money a month so will this increase my chances of getting accepted?

I checked my credit rating last week and it was really good so hopefully I will get accepted - but i get so nervous applying in case I get denied and it affects my score!

Thanks,

Hayley

Being in a new job could lessen your chance of being acccepted. So it may be wise to apply now with your current, correct details.

Ignore the score. No one sees it but you. It can fluctuate as much as it likes, it doesn't change what is on your files.

You can't put the new income until you start getting it. However, pretty often you are asked about the time you are with the employer, that is another important factor.

All 'ratings' that CRAs try to sell you are meaningless and worthless. What matters is the credit history/file.
