Just out of interest. If you sold a vehicle before the 1st of october and it had 9 months tax on it would they automatically refund the new owner or even the seller if they hadn't registered it yet?0

The new owner is never refunded VED.
If DVLA had not been notified of the change of keeper they cannot do a VED refund as they are neither psychic nor clairvoyant. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
Selling my car next week, my understanding is the refund is processed automatically when you send your V5 off. Not sure how it's paid but sounds like you'll receive a cheque as HBS says above.Current Debt: 0%.Current House Deposit: 7%.0
