Morning all,
TTFTM sorry to hear your DH didn't get the job, I hope something else comes up in the near future and he's encouraged by getting the interview. Did they give feedback on why he didn't get it?
It's a cloudy morning here but seems to be dry, yesterday was lovely and I got three loads hung out on the whirly. They didn't fully dry but made a good start and was nice to be able to get it out. Lazily finished it off in the tumbler rather than the airer ooops
That was about the most productive thing I did yesterday. Had a late night at a wedding reception with the BF (I was driving) then had to get up at 8 to take him to work. Then got a call from mum to warn me dad might be in touch. Won't bore you with the whole tale but there's an issue between us with money and he brought it up to my sister at the weekend saying something that was news to me.
It's so sad when a girls dad is the man she sheds most tears over (I wish that was a testiment to few broken hearts but there's been plenty shed over other boys too!). I'm very much a daddy's girl and feel so hurt by him again, I've had enough now and at this point in time want nothing more to do with him.
Sorry, that was a bit of a rant
At work today and seeing the company doctor at 10 regarding stress etc. Lunch will be spent sorting stuff to pay tax on my rented flat. This evening I'm hoping to get to the gym then give the kitchen a good clean and clear out.
Hugs to those who need/want the, hope the poorlies are feeling as well as possible and any stressed pets feel calm.

Morning all,
Camelot, good to have you back. Hope you can get the source of your hearing loss sorted soon.
I have to smile at some of the things 'Youngest' posts on his Twitter. Occasionally conversations between me and his Dad are brought up.
October 18th:
Mom: "Pete you don't have people skills"
Dad: "I don't need people skills"
October 19th:
Dad: "I don't work hard to pi** all my money up the wall in the pub"
Mom: "No but you smoke it instead"
Dad: "I can smoke at work".
We must be such a source of amusement to him.... I wonder if he heard us talking about whether crop circles are man made or created by aliens, I wonder if he heard us talking about whether mermaids are fictional or real because we were talking about it last night in bed. I guess i'll find out from his Twitter later.:rotfl:
Glad to get hubby off to work today. I swear he's getting more like my Mother every week.
Usual chores to be completed today. Youngest is off out which will give me time to do the chores without him getting in the way. I miss having my own space.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Between router being broke and little ones being sick haven't been able to post. Hope all are doing well. Am off now to catch up with the threads I missedNOT BUYING IT 2018!
Consumerism is.....buying things you don't need with money you don't have to impress people you don't know and probably wouldn't like even if you did know them.0 -
good morning all soup made for the week and yesterday late morning youngest DD picked me up and I had lunch with her and the family then we trundled off to Viking Bay at Westgate It was a gorgeous afternoon and sitting outside the cafe watching the dogs run around along with the boys playing football was lovely Sun, sea and a cuppa what more could a person want
:) probably the last trip to the coast this year but very enjoyable none the less.back to her house where son-in-law made a great sunday dinner last night, lamb with all the trimmings.
Clocks change next weekend so darker afternoons will be on the way .
Just pottering around today, no shopping to buy as I am working my way through the freezer hopefully.I amy have a go at a little bit of ironing later ,but I have to be careful not to do too much or my arm starts to ache so it will only be a little bit.I have got quite ruthless since my op. and only iron what really needs it as opposed to everthing in the pile.:):)
Sad news about Lynda Bellingham bless her she seemed such a bubbly lady
Right onwards and upwards chums, have a good day whatever you are doing

Morning all

Very dark this morning when I took DD to the station, I'm looking forward to the clocks changing as she has to walk down an alleyway on her own which I don't like.
House looks like a bombs hit it, I really don't understand how it gets so messy over the weekend! Lots of tidying up to be done and Dh wants his shorts washed and dried for tonight but I'm not sure about the weather...
Very sad about Linda Bellingham passing after all those interviews she gave saying she wanted one last Christmas with her family, poor woman
Off to grab the Hoover, hugs to those in need and Happy Birthday to Sistercas DD xx0 -
Morning all
Very long time since i have posted but reading your post Ruby about DD being 20 reminded me when we were all waiting for GCSE results and then making college choices as my youngest DD is the same age cant believe they are all so grown up
I need to get back on track with OS as am now paying 2 rents and 1 mortgage hopefully oldest DD will hear from Fridays interviews who knew that a qualified SW would apply for 90 jobs and still be looking:mad:
DD2 is at Kings in London doing nursing and we will pay for her rent and other bits as we did that for DD1 and i dont want them to start their working life in debt thankfully DS is in the army so no rent there:D
Slow cooker is on with YS pork joint will freeze the leftovers for next week Monday is my day off as i do 4 long days instead so you will probably only see a post on Monday but i do read every day unless there is overtime:j
Have a good day and enjoy the sunshine while you can0 -
Afternoon :hello:
It didn't rain yesterday, I could've got all the washing dried outside. I'd already hung everything up indoors by the time I realised the weather wasn't going to change, but I couldn't be bothered to move it
I had a lazy afternoon watching DVDs and drinking lots of tea.
I woke up once during the night then was awake at 4.30am. Came downstairs and dozed a bit on the sofa, managed to eat half a weetabix then went back up to bed once the others had left for work. Slept for an hour, led there for another hour and finally got dressed at 11.30am. Feeling a bit better now so will attempt a bit of housework.

Good afternoon all,
Thank you nmic for starting today's thread.
Just back from taking DD shopping and just had a bowl of soup. Himself still coughng like a good un, but not quite so loud. Whatever this virus is that we have had it is nasty.
Should have gone out to lunch today with "girls" I used to work with, but cancelled because I don't feel up to it. It is embarrassing when you are eating and coughing at the same time.
TTFTM sorry DH didn't get the job, but I hope he was encouraged by the interview. It would be helpful to him if he received feed back, otherwise he will be wondering was he too old, not qualified enough, etc. I hope he doesn't lose heart.
Not looking forward to the promised storm tonight, I find the winds very worrying particularly when there are trees nearby. Have no plans to go out tomorrow so if the weather is still rough I will be tucked up at home.
Camelot good to see you back and pleased you had a good time.
Sad news regarding Linda Bellingham, she did so want a last Christmas with her family.
Lyn I know what you mean about how loud fireworks are these days, and to be honest I think they should be kept for organised firework events. Can you remember when Dad used to buy a 5 shilling box and in it would be 1 rocket, 1 catherine wheel, which he would pin to the clothes prop, and it would always come off, a packet of sparklers and the rest would be "pretties". He would never buy "bangers", as we called them because we always had a dog and wouldn't for the world frighten him on purpose. Bruce, who was our black retriever when we were children, always used to hide under Mum and Dad's bed when he could hear fireworks.
Have a good day everyone, and hugs to all poorlies, human and doggy.

Good afternoon from a grumpy puss:mad:
It's been one of those days.
Started with dd8 dropping half a box of cereal all over kitchen floor.
Kitchen floor not clean so cereal in bin:o (see below for mop)
Send her for a bath, she then proceeds to flood bathroom floor and passage.
Go to get mop:eek: last person to use it never rinsed it out! The worm residing in it layers was not happy to be evicted!
Go out to sweep garden and dog has snuck out and left a gift in the grass.
Which I them squelch in my slippers.
Fabric so they are in the bin.:(
Look forward to receiving new clothes for holiday, only to discover I have been sent a giant pair of mens shorts instead of black skinny jeans!
Sorry rant over:o
TTFTM sorry hubby didn't get the job, eldest dd still applying she graduated in July.
So to os I have pegged out washing and another load in.
Just having a cuppa then tackle the washing up.
Dinner tonight is home made fish crumble with macaroni cheese for eldest as she hates fish.
Hope you have a better day than me lol.
I shall look forward to work to escape
Hugs to all xxxSIMPLY BE-££577.11:eek:
