Can you get free/cheap boiler in exchange of immersion only?
I'm looking into this for my parents, both are over sixty. They have no central heating at all and just an immersion for hot water. The only heating they have comes from a gas fire downstairs and a little electric heater upstairs. Does anyone know whether they would be able to get a free/cheap boiler to replace it and allow them to get central heating put in? They had the loft insulation done but have been given the impression that you only get a free/cheap boiler if you have an old inefficient one to trade in. Has anyone been in this situation? Grateful for any advice.
