Hey,
Wondering if this seems reasonable to you lot?
Plumbing/bathroom - around 4-5m^2 (note, I've removed everything except the bare floor and pipes):
Lift floor, re-instate and level floor
Build bulk head to suit new arrangement
Build base for shower tray
Supply & install black worktop for bulk head
Alter all pipework to suit new layout
Install wall hung WC & WHB to bulk head
Install shower tray and screen
Install electric shower
Install under sink hot water heater
Supply plasterer to skim walls and ceiling
£2100
Electrical work:
Consumer unit - supplied and fitted to replace 2 fuse boards
In bathroom:
Power supply for electric shower run in 10mm cable
4 spotlights in the bathroom (supplied by contractor)
1 Icon extractor fan
1 shaver point
1 power point for demister pad for mirror
Living room/kitchen:
Inline water heater unit for hot water taps in the kitchen and bathroom
Power point and we will supply unit (Hyco 9.5kw) (I don't understand what this is!)
Fit all new sockets and switches (not supplied by contractor)
Fit 2 electric heaters (not supplied by contractor)
Install 2 smoke alarms and 1 heat detector
Fit 3 lights
Remove unused points
Install 2 wall lights at side of bed via switches at side of bed
£1540 + VAT
Regarding the electrical work, what would be reasonable to take off the quote if I wasn't getting new sockets/switches changed, 3 lights fitted and the wall lights installed at bed?
Also...if a quote doesn't mention anything about VAT at all, can I assume it's included? Obviously I'll ask but just wondering...
Thanks!

Does the plumbing work include supply of toilet, basin, shower, shower enclosure? If so, the quality of materials will significantly drive cost. If not, then it sounds expensive to me (assuming a rate of say £160 per person per day then 13 days effort sounds a lot for what you're having done).
Don't know about the electric work.
Don't make any assumptions regarding VAT - ask.0 -

Doesn't include supply of toilet, shower, basin. Just told me I could go to a certain shop and use his name to get trade discount and he would collect.
