    Hello guys,

I have very similar problem to the thread creator. I am new to this as I only started to drive this year and I need some advice.

First of all I apologise for refreshing an old thread but I thought maybe something has changed since, law or rules.

On the car park where I leave my car the residents have their own bays. Unfortunately because we live in town centre people that are going to town always use our spaces therefore my landlord hired Parking Control Management UK Ltd (pcm) to help us with this issue. In my household we've got 3 cars (me, my brother and my parents) but at the time when the landlord was issuing parking permits I didn't have a car so they gave my brother a permit for our bay and my parents received universal one (staff/contractors).

When I started to drive I've asked my landlord to give me a universal permit but they've refused to give me one as they said it wouldn't be fair towards my neighbours, I've said that the car park is nearly empty during the night time as only a few of my neighbours drives but it did not convince my landlord to give me a permit. What I've done instead I photocopied my parents permit. I had no problem for months until one time when I got sick and my car was on the car park for 2 weeks. Person checking the permits must have spotted that it's a photocopy and during those 2 weeks I've received 3 parking fines. I've told my landlord about the whole situation and they quickly found a neighbours that doesn't drive and gave me her permit for her bay but refused to helped with existing PCM fines.

After reading internet forums I've decided to ignore it, but this week I've received 3 letters (each for each fine) from Trace Debt Recovery UK Ltd and to be honest I am getting a bit scared now. Do you guys know how serious this company is and what can really happen if I don't pay?

Please see attached scans of the ticket and the letter that I've received.

Rudixx, this thread is nearly two years old and any replies were only for the benefit of the original poster. Lots of things have changed since then so you need to start again by reading up on the latest information instead of dragging up old and out of date information.

I don't know where you got information about ignoring a private parking ticket, but that hasn't been advised on this site since the law changed in 2012.

Please read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES on the MSE, Motoring, Parking Ticket forum, then start your own thread if you need further help.

In your new thread do not say what you said here about what the issue actually is/what you did (edit it out like I have).
