Yeah, I wouldn't pay a stranger £1000 in the hope they will turn up as and when agreed, run away and find a proper tradesman, it's only because a few muppets have agreed to this sort of behaviour in the past that people think they should jump on the bandwagon and are getting away with it, if he is so busy and popular that he can't fit you in till February why is he so scared of you cancelling and leaving him with no work to do then? And why should your £1000 spend the next 4 months in his bank account earning him interest when it should be In yours? I would run a mile from this clown , I wonder how many other people he has mugged off for a "deposit" and how many tens of thousands of pounds are sitting in his account all year earning him free interest then? Nice work if you can get it0
