The other thing to bear in mind is no whitening toothpaste actually whitens. It doesn't matter how expensive etc it is research from scientific to consumer eg which has shown not one whitens.

Some are abrasive and work by removing surface stains so may brighten up heavily stained teeth from smoking, tea etc. however what will wear away stain will also wear away enamel so these need to be used sparingly.

There are many ingredients in toothpaste that can cause problems , cinnamon and benzoic acid often cause problems in people with sensitivities.

If you fancy a change in flavours the Aldis herbalux toothpaste has a slightly liquorice/lemon taste, super drug do an adults strawberry taste toothpaste .

On the other hand oranurse do a completely unflavoured toothpaste which is excellent for those very sensitive to strong flavours .

If you get mouth ulcers try eating 2/3 brazil nuts every day, it really does help. Brazil nuts contain selenium. This was recommended by my husband's Oral Consultant as he gets horrible ulcers as a result of one of the medications he has to take, unfortunately they can't tell which one. He has had very good results and can feel his mouth start to feel funny if he misses a few days.
