Glow worm spacersaver compleheat problems

I have had a glow worm spacesaver complheat boiler for 21 years without any problems. Recently the heating comes on when the water comes on. After some research I'm told that it's the diverter valve. Had an engineer out today who agreed. He had a quick look for the diverter but couldn't locate it. He left us to look for it saying he'd have no problem changing it.
Anyone any idea where it's likely to be. We've searched the loft and kitchen to no avail.

Usually near the pump but not always, often used to be fitted under first floor floorboards , usually a small access panel in floorboard would be left. Although it cloud be behind panelling etc. I would try lifting carpet in room above the boiler for starts.0

Is it a gravity system? If the pump only comes on for heating it means it is and you won't have one, just a non return valve looks like a lump of brass somewhere near boiler normally0

Thanks for that. I've just found it under the bathroom floorboards.0
