Fan oven not working

I purchased a new Belling electric freestanding cooker earlier this month. All has been fine until now. This is what has happened.
Last used it on Friday - top oven only. All fine
I noticed yesterday when I went into the kitchen the clock wasn't on. Electric supply ok so checked the fuse box and the switch needed to be flicked. The oven came back on and I reset the clock. All seemed ok and never thought anymore about it. Admittedly I didn't test all functions as assumed since clock was on and power working that all was ok
Today I came to switch fan oven on to cook tea - and nothing! No power or internal light and no light on control panel. However, the top oven still works as does the hob part.
I intend to call manufacturer tomorrow as obviously still well within the guarantee. but in the meantime:
Has anyone known anything like this? Any suggestions what it could be?
Thanks in advance

Sounds like element fault on main oven.0

My guess is that part of the control panel, or less likely something in the fan oven, (the element or fan), has failed, shorted to earth and tripped the circuit breaker.
The short probably burned out quickly as it tripped the CB so it is no longer shorting but isn't allowing normal function.
Contact the shop or supplier rather than the manufacturer as your contract is with the shop. Ask them to send an engineer to investigate and repair or replace as appropriate. They will probably refer you to the manufacturer but should agree to pay any charges.
Where did you buy it?0 -
Thanks both for the replies.
I bought it from John Lewis. They have provided a 2 year guarantee but it seems to suggest they provide the 2nd year after the manufacturers first year? Do you think it's best that I contact them instead?
I did activate the warranty with Belling which is why I thought I should contact them first.
Bit confused now0 -
Your contract is with the retailer.0
