Replacing two metal roof windows

just had a quote of £2400 to replace metal windows with Fakro windows. I checked these windows with flashings and delivery would come to £517, the extra amount is for reducing the size of the hole with boarding, re-plaster and re-decorate. Although we can do the re-decoration, we have the paint.
Seems a lot to me but would like other opinions please.

Difficult to comment…
what type of roof finish do you have?
are there two completely separate window openings?
Does the structure need altered, i.e. will they be bigger or smaller? Each way would mean that the roof has to be altered so there may be materials associated with that.
1200 per window does seem quite high, get another couple of quotes? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Yes, two bathrooms involved, the roof is slate. Holes in roof will have to be reduced from 56 x 81 to 55 x 78. We actually have the slate, although they do not know that. Am trying to get other quotes but not a lot of luck yet!0
