Please could I very kindly ask those that have quoted me to remove them from their posts and to not directly quote? Just incase I need to remove anything I've said so that there is no trace. Thank you.

You seriously need to consider what you post if this is an issue for you.

I went back 3 days a week to a engineering job, and was given the same work load as a full timer.

They were desperate for me to say that I couldn't do it in 3 days, but I managed.

Some companies are more flexible than others.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

    Thanks all.

Freebiequeenie - Yes, have been thinking of numerous scenarios! My main thing is I really don't want to do 5 days. So have thought of various ways around it. How do you find 4 days? I've heard that you can end up being expected to do the same amount of work as if you were working full time still? I could look at doing completely compressed full time hours into 4 days but I think it would be tough as baby would probably be in bed when I left / got home!

Goldiegirl - I'm the only person in my company who does my role.

4 days has been ok really helped doing 3 days for several months. I did have a similar workload to before but staffing has been awful for past few years n everyone has been pulling in more.
