Boiler question - Having timer somewhere else

Hi All

I have a combi boiler question

We have an Ariston Combi boiler (cant remember the model number). Its about 6 years old and it has a manual timer on the unit itself.

Its a pain as the combi boiler is in a cupboard in the kitchen where access isn't easy as we have a dining table covering the cupboard so if we want to make any changes to the timer or as recently it suddenly becomes cold and we want to put the heat on early ideally we don't want to move the table, open the cupboard and then make the changes.

Is there a way I can get a separate timer to link to the boiler so we can make the changes and fit this timer somewhere where it is easy access? We already have a separate theramast in the hallway, Could I get something similar for the timer?

Many Thanks

You can get a remote wireless programmer/thermostat. As it sounds it doesn't need to be wired and you can have it any where you wish. They are around £100 plus fitting.

Fantastic! Any chance you have any web links so I can begin researching. I am guessing I need to check for a wireless model compatible with my combi boiler?
  • As you already have a wired thermostat the simplest choice would be to change that to a programmable one, and set the combi boiler timer to 'always on'.

Post the make/model of your current thermostat for advice, but this one will almost certainly be compatible with your boiler and wiring, as it has its own battery power:
