hi, i need some help as i am trying to open and use office/word 2010 and having problems
as soon as the window opens it closes and asks me to uninstall and reinstall programs.
these were already installed on my laptop when purchased.
when the office window opens , it says office 2010 is already installed, when i insert product key from base of laptop, it says that its invalid.
i have used office/word in the past, (last year) without any problems.
any help appreciated
my laptop is about 3 yeats old its an asus and runs on windows 7
thanks

just been looking this up, and seen alternatives, is it easier just to download apache or wps
i am not a technical expert , so dont know much about these things.
Nice to save.

You could try downloading a product key finding program like this one
https://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/ it should find the key for it.

I doubt you have a full working version of Office 2010 but have Office Starter (which was shipped with W7), the key on the bottom of the machine is probably for Windows so is not relevant. If you are trying to open "word" it will not work. Try opening the start menu, all programs, microsoft office starter (english) and open the program from there. If you are trying to open a document from an outside source quite often it tries to open it in office which will not work so you need to associate it with office starter instead. Try right clicking on the file, open with, microsoft office client virtualization handler. If starter fails to open you probably need to go into control panel, programs and features and repair office starter.

I have repaired microsoft office starter 2010, however this has had no effect, i am still getting the same response.

microsoft office click to run 2010 and mcrosoft office only show the option of uninstall, 'change' option is not on display

The only way I can see round this is to revert to factory settings which will reload W7 and any pre-installed programs. Back up your data first.

    Hi

Perhaps if you install Belarc advisor...

    Hewlett-Packard - WebReg $SerialNumber$ Microsoft - Internet Explorer 76477-OEM-0042796-47904 (Key: DP72C-C87H4-PWTDY-2MXCJ-KYV3Y)e Microsoft - Office Enterprise 2007 8XXXX-XXX-2XXXXXX-6XXXX (Key: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) Microsoft - PowerShell 89383-100-0001260-04309

and get some results, it will help.

Even suspect a failed security update causing trouble.

One doesn't need a key for Office 2010 Starter.

    Hi

Well you need a key for Internet Explorer, it is automatically done for you, so why not for Office 2010 Starter?

The point is that Belarc will show the version of Office, starter or otherwise.
