Rockdoor query

We need to get our timber external doors replaced and having done a bit of research I am now leaning toward getting Rockdoor rather than a made to measure timber door. I have 2 questions:
1. Rockdoor doesn't seem to deal with the general public directly so I'd need to find a good supplier and fitter. I have filled in an on-line questionnaire yesterday on Rockdoor's website so hopefully they will put me in touch with their local recommended suppliers. However, has anyone out there used a good Rockdoor supplier in the past 12 months in Manchester/Derbyshire area (we live in the Peaks) that they would recommend?
2. It would appear that the doors are around £800 mark which I can live with but installation would seem around £400 :eek:which seems a bit steep. Is it really worth it paying so much? On the other hand, I don't want to use just any old fitter as this could invalidate the guarantee if they do a rubbish job. So again, anybody could recommend a good fitter experienced with installing Rockdoors in Manchester/Derbyshire area?
Thank you.

I used these people to fit my rockdoor http://www.valuedoors.co.uk/composite-doors/composite-rockdoors-range
They operate nationwide, just select the fitter nearest to you on their "search for a installer",or phone their freephone number and the local fitter will contact you..the person who comes round to discuss and measure is the one that fits your door... and the prices are fitted all inclusive no messing about with "special discounts" "managers specials" or "sign today discounts" as employed by many of them.
no deposit needed pay after fitting when you are happy..from measuring to fitting was about 10 days
I am very happy both with my rockdoor and with my fitter,I have no connection with them just a happy customer0 -
The advertising magazines regularly put through my letterbox have composite doors supplied and fitted at £750-850. Obviously this depends who you pick, and there is probably scope for a little negotiation.
Whilst Rockdoor appears to have a loyal following, there is little to choose between most composite doors. Provided you know the manufacturer, the source of the slab, the Energy Rating, the locking manufacturer, the testing to which PAS test (they are always being updated), glass options (laminated? triple glazed?), the guarantee, proof of CE marking...you cannot go far wrong.
I do not have a Rockdoor because I am not convinced they justify the premium price. I went for the cheapest that I could find, having considered the above items.0 -
