Scottish Power tariffs?

I'm currently paying £90 monthly on Scottish Power's Online Fixed Price Energy November 2015. According to the quotes I get on their site I could switch to Fixed Price Energy September 2017 Online and pay £85.21 monthly including boiler repair cover, or choose Online Fixed Price Energy December 2015 at £69.55 monthly. Switching suppliers would cost £50 in penalties. Which of the SP options looks best?

Penalty? I thought November 2015 has no exit penalty?
December 2015 is good. Yet again, no exit penalty.0 -
My advice, FWiW, is do not restrict yourself to Scottish Power. If your tariff is coming to an end, then you will receive either a letter or e-mail (in period 49 to 42 days before the end of November) from SP telling you as much. On receipt of this letter, you are free to start the switching process without any exit penalty if the switch goes through before the end of November. If the switch takes you into December, then you will remain on your present SP Tariff. These are the latest OFGEM rules.
Work out your energy consumption in Kwhs for gas and electricity for the past 12 months and enter these into an energy comparison site. Thanks for your responses.
I should obviously spend some more time weighing up options. Will it make any difference that SP pay me my FIT payments for my solar panels?0 -

None whatsoever. If you are happy with SP for FITS - then stay as you as you are. You do not need to tell them that you are switching energy suppliers. I was with EDF for both energy and FITs: I have now switched and EDF still deals with my FIT claim.
If you decide to switch, then remember 2 things: one, the gaining supplier is responsible for the switching process, and they will ask you for meter readings at the appropriate time that they will pass onto SP. Two, when you get your final bill from SP then you need to check that the opening reads with your new supplier and your closing reads with SP are the same. They may be the same as the readings that you provided. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
