I want to get a farm for a farm mad 3 & a half year old.
The Playmobile mega farm 4055 which is discontinued looks amazing. Its nearly £250 on amazon.
Ebay second hand about £80.
I've seen this too.

Hes a very clever advanced 3 & half year old, so I don't want to get a babyish or toddler one.
Is playmobil my best bet?
Do I get a second hand 4055 or what?
Advice gratefully accepted, I've never bought playmobil before.
ETA - he has loads of miniature animals, the realistic type you get in the early learning centre. Would playmobile be too different to the realistic animals he likes, would I be better with another make?

I would love some more specific advice relating to farms.
Has the 4055 been replaced with another model?
Is it better/worse?
Any other better farm sets?0 -
The only problem with the playmobile/Lego/ duplo sets is that they tend to get deconstructed and you end up with bits everywhere. Or you did at our house anyway!
I love the look of this one from early learning centre:-

OP do you want the construction of the playmobile for your child, or a farm he will get a lot of play out of?
If its the latter, I'd go with thecoffeehouse's suggestion above
. Far more lifelike and more what he's used to, compared with playmobile. 0 -
I made a play farm - painted a board with fields a pond etc, built buildingds out of hardboard and coverd them with brick paper, then stocked it with the realistic animals you used to be able to buy from ELC etc. It was well loved for quite a few years. And you can add animals, tractors etc.0

I haven't seen the £250 one but there is the farm with silo which is about £80 and a farmhouse with market garden shop for half that. We wnt for the latter and had people add some odd bits and bobs. The one my son still plays with most though is the rabbits and the pigs which are two tiny sets kept at my sisters house. I wouldn't say he has played with teh farm a lot as there is just too much of it. the pirate ship on teh other was very popular.0

I didnt realise the playmobil one was a construction one.
I think the realism of the elc one (or similar) is best then - thank you.0
