Possible DCA Forged letter

Hi Peeps,
Have an outstanding dept with Capital One (CO), no problem happy to pay but was unemployed, for some time last year and am on a temp contract now, which ends soon.
Have received a couple of letters one supposedly from CO, and another (conveniently about a week later ) from Lowell Portfollio (LP)
Both letters inform me that my outstanding account has been sold to LP.
The one from CO caught my eye in that it looked like a photocopy, and upon further investingation I notice it has come from the same printer!!
So is this another scammy DCA trying it on, I've always made payments to CO (abeit reduced), except for short periods when I can only afford to eat.
(My priorities are Rent, Food, CC's. I'm not trying to get out of paying, as far as I'm concerned I borrowed the money & so I will pay it back, end of.)

Some debt sale contracts 'allegedly' contain a part where it is agreed by the original creditor that the collector is to print and send the Notice Of Assignment on the creditors behalf.

Dont know if that is really true. No less scummy though.

very true, when debts are sold in bulk the or authorises printing on their letter head.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
