Return a bed?

We took delivery of a bed yesterday which is adaptable but with 2 mattresses.

We have bought the bed as I am quite ill with ME and spend several days a week in bed quite ill. One of the points of the bed are the separate mattresses so when my OH gets into bed I do not notice any movement.

However, the bed we bought has one bed frame but with the 2 separate mattresses in the frame. I thought it was ok in the showroom but now it is at home I notice the movement when my OH gets into bed and moves around.

I have realised that there are 2 issues I think. The one bed frame but also the bed in the showroom was on a solid concrete floor where upstairs there is more movement.

Do we have any right to return the bed as it is not faulty but the reality is that it does move ...? Help please ...

Feeling a bit desperate as I have been so unwell lately and now feel very down that this does not work. We only had the bed delivered yesterday

Since you bought in store you have no right to return it.

Having said that you could ask them if they will change the bed for two single beds that would be suitable for the mattresses. This will all be down to the goodwill of the shop.

Does the shop have a returns policy? If it was part of your contract that they would accept a return they have to honour that. If not its down to goodwill.

Unless the bed is sold with that being a feature/in the description etc, i'm afraid its just classed as change of mind.

If it was sold with that as the description etc....then you'd likely have recourse under the SoGA as the goods wouldnt not conform to contract.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
