I bought a personal number plate from DVLA now what?
I bought a personal number plate from DVLA now what?
It said something about V50 being delivered in 2 weeks
How do I register it for my current car and what happens to my existing number, is it still mine (to put back when I sell) or do DVLA get it?

When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?

all local DVLA offices have been closed for this sort of thing due to cutbacks
they now have a streamlined more cost efficient service that can take four to six weeks to complete a transfer
you will get info with your V750 and all forms now go back to DVLA to be processed0 -

Yes, you used to be able to go to the office, queue for an hour, and it was done there and then.
Our local office is still there and no queues but as you say they don't do transfers.
The new "system" is so bad that the Scottish Motor Traders Assoc. and numerous other organisations have made representations to the DVLA but to no avail.
Even worse is trying to transfer a number from a vehicle you are selling to one you are buying, when you have a four week response time.0 -
Completely ridiculous closures.
Absolutely everything goes to Swansea now.
Scotland and Northern Ireland too.
No much wonder it takes up to 6 weeks.

What 'local office' Scotsbob? They all closed, it is Swansea or nothing now.0

This was the Glasgow office in October last year. Your question had me looking it up and you are quite correct it's now closed too.
In October last year they would have been 'winding down' and only doing the simple stuff - that's why there would have been no queues.
In the old days I could walk in with the paperwork and a cheque and walk out ten minutes later with everything done.
Class Changes, Retention Certificates, swapping over Cherished Numbers - all was very easy and quick - now it's a month if you're very lucky.
But that's 'progress' for you.
