Transfer of Proceedings with Abbey- HELP?!

Hi,
I have notification this morning that my claim has been transferred from my local court in Carlisle, to the court where the defendant (Abbey) lives or carries out business. (which is Northampton). This is very far away and when I get the court date it means I will have to take time off work and get a hotel, only for it to be likely that they don't show up.
Is there anything I can do about this?
Also, Abbey have offered me 75% of my claim which is £1708.50. IS it worth holding out for the rest, even if I have to get hotels etc?
All replies greatly appreciated!

Are you sure this is the right way round? Normally a claim is transferred from Northampton where MCOL starts it off, to the local court of the claimant.0

I got the letter through and it states that it will be heard in the court where the claimant lives, which I presume is usual, and then someone's crossed it out in biro and hand-written 'defendant' instead of claimant.0

Call the court and ask them what is happening. MCOL usually starts at Northampton and is then transferred to the claimants local court if the defendant is a business.0 -
Just called them and it's now sorted to go to my local court. Just waiting for the allocation questionnaire to come through.
Is it worth sticking to my guns to get the full amount? The thought of getting a court bundle together seems daunting!
Thanks in anticipation!0
