ESA New Job

I've been on ESA for approximately 8 weeks whilst they looked into a condition previously had a part time job and as it was under 16 hours claimed job seekers allowance.
Before i went onto ESA, i went for an interview, and finally they have offered me a full time job on the 11/10/14 at 8 pm brilliant Friday night....and started Monday 13/10/14. As the offices are closed on the weekend and i now work 9-6 Monday - Friday i sent back the change of circumstances form to ESA.
I would have thought that i would have continued to get the ESA at least for a week??? but the payments stopped immediately (was due on the Thursday 16/10/14.)
This month i am going to struggle with money as i am not sure when i will be paid from my new employer? I am a single mother with two children between 7 & 5. I have contacted working tax credits this week but i still have bills going out and mouths to feed as well as the expense of new uniform, shoes and fuel to get back and forth to my new job!.
My question's are:
1. What should i do about the ESA
2. Is any help available for people who are going back into work as if i was on job seekers i would be able to get help for 4 weeks??
Sorry if the questions are a bit jumbled and rambles on it tends to be my way

ESA is paid in arrears.
That is - you are paid for the 2 weeks up until your payment date.
If you started on the 13th, you are eligible up until that date.
If your payment was on the 16th, and you get paid every two weeks, you are due 11/14ths of the payment you'd normally get.
It may take a few days for this to come through.
Call them, and ask for this to be paid urgently as you're in difficulties.0 -
JSA would be the same as ESA they both stop the day you start work. They wouldn't pay you for 4 extra weeks even if you were on JSA, sorry. I know you have bills but i really don't think there's anything you can do but wait until your working tax credits starts. They aren't usually that long in paying you for that. In the meantime with the bills you have to pay you can ring them and explain your situation and put your bills on hold, at least until your money starts coming in. Stressful i know.. Good luck with your new job though xfrooglefraggle wrote: »I've been on ESA for approximately 8 weeks whilst they looked into a condition previously had a part time job and as it was under 16 hours claimed job seekers allowance.

JSA can help up to four weeks, but only in regards to getting to and from your job (travel expenses) and or the cost of a new uniform.0
