    And......a bit more money-saving:
*Just sold another small item on ebay which I have wrapped using recycled packaging.
*Decided to list 3 more items & relist a couple too, as I am working really hard on de-cluttering at the moment.
*Checked paypal & we have made £53 recently just selling small, cheap items. Better in our Bathroom Fund than cluttering up my HQ!
*Used 60p off voucher to buy today's 'Observer'........am a bit of a news junkie.
*mr f has just texted me to say he's bringing 'an enormous wodge of free cake' home from work with him.......so I'm about to put the kettle on, & I hope he's putting his toe down!!

Not much MSE action here today as I still feel a bit rubbish fighting off a cold. Went to a car boot this morning and got a few bits to tidy up for my sales unit, plus a nice lampshade for the house. OH helped DD organise her garden this afternoon, while I played with baby GD (an apparently hilarious game which involved her throwing soft plastic balls out of her travel cot and me catching them - or failing to do so - and then throwing them back in :rotfl:) Lots of baby giggles :)

Did a small shop and spent less than £5 :)
Finished leftovers from yesterday for lunch - prawn wraps, so not too much of a hardship :p
Did a bit of paperwork for my business
Steak for supper, from the freezer - a rare treat :D
Got some venison out of the freezer to cook for a pie for tomorrow.

    Happy Sunday everyone :)

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All
A lovely peaceful day here today. On the money saving front I have
    1. Used up all our old veg in a soup.
    2. Used a scrape of hummus up in my lunchtime sandwich.
    3. OH made some spicy pickled onions hopefully in time for Christmas cold meat & cheese plates.
    4. Totalled food shopping spend for the week. Under budget.
    5. Family time has been making Halloween decorations, other crafting with 5 yr old, a lovely walk in our local park, watching a free movie from the library, lots of cuddling up & giggling on the sofa. All free :)
    6. Walked everywhere all day so no travel spending.
    7. Son found 2p on our walk. Gone in the piggy bank.
    8. No heating on still. I am grateful for such a mild October.

As an aside I was very proud of my son today, there is an annoying Little woods ad on at the moment that says something like 'movie night just got epic' & shows a family watching a giant telly on a brand new sofa. I instantly went into my indignant ' how stupid to they think people are' rant designed to keep son from picking up these awful consumerist debt encouraging messages, & he just turned to me & said 'movie night is supposed to be fun & treat anyway mummy' he already gets it. Maybe the little efforts I make every day really do sink in.

Anyway enjoy the rest of your weekends all.

    Bob

Bob - I just don't 'get' big TVs. We looked at them in John Lewis last week (not with any intention of buying, I hasten to add!). Now I'm quite long-sighted, but I'd have to sit so far away from one of those huge screens in order to watch a film comfortably, we wouldn't have a room big enough for this to be possible. I can see that you might put a massive screen in a modern warehouse conversion type of apartment but how many people live in those? If people have sufficient surplus cash to blow on huge tellies, that's their business, but I suspect, given their high prominence in places such as 'Brighthouse', that these are some kind of mass status item, & having surplus cash to spend is not the driving factor in wanting to own one. Great that your small son is already starting to see advertising for what it is. Bet you felt proud of him!
