Halifax credit card SAR: no original credit agreement included

Hello,
I recently requested a SAR from Halifax relating to a credit card I took out in 1996 and which I still have (although the account number appears to have changed in 2007).
I did this because I don't have the original credit agreement. All I had were two original statements, one from 2005 and one from 2011.
On these statements there is no mention of repayment cover.
The SAR contains a lot of data and I have waded through all of it. It also provides my complete statement history.
What is doesn't contain is a copy of the original credit card agreement I took out in 1996. There is one included, but its terms and conditions relate from April 1 2014.
My question is - am I flogging a dead horse or should I go back to Halifax and ask for a copy of the original agreement in the hope that PPI might be included?
I recently managed to claim £13,000 from Barclays on PPI I had on mortgage, and I only managed that because I had all the original paperwork, including the original agreement, which I haven't been sent here.

Why are you after the agreement? You dont need it with PPI complaints. You have statements so its pretty obvious to see whether you have it or not.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
If you had PPI it would have been stated separately on each and every statement that you received.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
You could phone or write and ask Halifax if they still have a copy in their archives. I'm guessing that you wish to check whether you ticked a ppi box or something similar at the time of applying. It can be helpful if you're submitting a complaint to back it up with point of sale documents.0

You don't need this agreement. Why don't you simply ask Halifax if you have had a PPI policy on your card?
Or look at the statements. The OP has said the SAR gives the transaction history too.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Well, he also says he has "waded through all of it" and wants the Agreement in the "hope that PPI might be included". Clearly he is not convinced by the lack of any PPI payments on his transaction summaries. By asking the Bank directly, he may realise the truth.Or look at the statements.
