How to draw a house? Planning question

Hi all,
Im after a program that allows me to draw a house/home. I am wanting to submit a planning application for a barn conversion but need to submit a digital representation of the conversion. Ive used floorplanner.com and sweethome3d for the floorplans but both do not allow me to draw a picture that has a roof. Roofs are important as you all know, unless I start a new trend for convertible houses which I dont think will take off to well in England with our wet weather
I have tried taking a picture of the barn and converting the photo to a black n white drawing using another program but need to add windows to this. I was going to cut out bits of paper squares to show the windows, stick them on the picture and photocopy it but it seems a bit blue peter-ish. Surely theres another way?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

You could do what I did, draw it with a pencil and scan it or even photograph it if you don't have a scanner.0

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking of getting my crayons out but was hoping there was an easier more professional way. Did you submit that on a planning app? If so for what and did it get approved all ok? Maybe im over complicating things0

There are some free CAD programs out there that will allow you to design a house.
These have a steep learning curve though.Never Knowingly Understood.
