mortgage refused -default on noddle - bank have no records!

Hello,
This is my first time posting and I'm hoping someone can help!
Prior to applying for a mortgage I checked my credit file on equifax and experian - both gave me an almost perfect rating...
Applied for a mortgage and had it refused yesterday - claim credit or noodle found a default on my file relating to a Natwest current account from 2008. I contacted natwest who found no details of this debt. I closed my current account with them 1 year ago in credit.
Went into branch to speak to the branch manager who also couldn't find the debt - noodle claim the current account has been defaulting each month for 6 years.
It's linked to my mums home address and I've received no correspondence, phone calls, threats nothing!
I'm at a loss... I have no recollection of the debt yet I can not get a mortgage because of it- I have queried the debt with Noodle and the bank but this will take 28 days to sort. In this time I will lose the house I have had an offer accepted on!
I am newly pregnant and now feeling so stressed to the point where I am experiencing stomach pains!
I think this default is an administrative error but nobody in the bank will confirm or deny that I have debt with them.
I'm banging my head against a brick wall... can anyone help?
Thank you for reading x

If you have a twitter account contact them on that, they seem to respond quick through that. If you mention it's blocking a mortgage application they might bump it. Don't think they use it on the weekend mind you.
Unfortunately you found out the hard way, always check your files before a big credit application, good luck!
PS Any default should do off 6 years from the default date.0 -

It's great to hear you are taking the steps at checking your credit file and making sure there isn't anything negative showing, whilst we are on the subject of steps congratulations on the pregnancy I hope everything goes well for you.MrsLoveland wrote: »

Sorry to hear you was refused credit, you might want to add your full address history with the reports you have with each CRA just to make sure there isn't anything missing or incorrect, if you would like to provide me in an email with the following details name/dob/full address including postal code and six year's worth of address history I can take a look through your Experian Credit Report with you to make sure nothing is missing from what you have seen.PS Any default should do off 6 years from the default date.
Hazzinho, is correct if the account defaulted in 2008 then the six years comes to an end this year and will come off your credit report six years from the default date.
Fingers crossed everything goes well with the mortgage and the pregnancy.
Kind Regards

The account defaulted in 2008 and has continued to default every month since as I have had no notice or correspondence I was completely unaware it existed. Therfore it will only be off my report in 6 years from resolution?!
I have queried the default with call credit and am waiting for a response
The bank can not find the account... I believe it's a administrative error and that the debt does not exist0 -
No. It will fall off your credit file six years from registration.MrsLoveland wrote: »Therfore it will only be off my report in 6 years from resolution?
That means some time in the next seventy-four days if it was registered in 2008.
To whom did you apply for a mortgage? Few lenders take information from Call Credit/Noddle alone, only Skipton and Kensington IIRC.
Have you supplied all your addresses to the other CRAs, to rule out the default being there, rather than just not visible to you? RBS Group normally takes information from and feeds information to Equifax.I am a mortgage broker. call credit / noddle report every month defaults, but they are still removed at the 6 year pointDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

This has been so helpful - default was registered November 2008 -so this means it should be off my credit file this month!?0

I applied for a mortgage with clynesdale/Yorkshire bank.
There is only trace of their searches through noddle not the other two.
I did supply all addresses to all credit agencies - I have lived in my current address for 5 years 8 months and previously at my mums house0 -

The default and all details of the account and history will drop off 6 years from that original default date. No sign of the account will be left.
So if for argument's sake it was registered on 12th November 2008 then it should have dropped off any report a lender would see on checking by 12th or 13th November 2014.
Saying that, callcredit do sometimes remove defaults a little early.
Also bear in mind that the Noddle report is a monthly snapshot of the call credit database, so if you check Noddle shortly before the drop off date you will have to wait a month to be able to get an updated report from noddle again, during which the account will still show even through it has been removed from that main callcredit database a lender would check.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
