Barclays SAR couldn't find Information

Hi, can anyone please help/advise. I had two Barclay loans between 1994-1998 I have the loan account numbers and dates they ran from and to. I have written to Barclays data protection and requested the subject access information.
They have supplied a considerable amount of paperwork detailing everything apart from my PPI agreement number. I am 100% I was mis-sold PPI on these loans but without the original agreement I am unsure what to do next.
Can anyone help please?

There isnt such a thing as a PPI agreement number.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
How can you possibly say that you are 100% sure that you were miss sold from around 20 years ago.
Do you have proof of actually having PPI and more to the point do you have evidence to back up your complaint.
Like the other poster says, you will strugglemake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Send the complaint to Barclays, address on their website, with the evidence you already have, loan ref no, dates and any bank statements which show the loan direct debits and reasons it was mis-sold e.g. single front loaded premium.
You could ask the SAR dept to look again in their microfilm archives where there might be a copy of it, but who knows, the ppi team might be able to locate something that suggests a policy existed without you having to supply the original agreement.0 -
The evidencet the OP has does not confirm a policy ever existed and you cannot have been missold something that was never sold to you.Send the complaint to Barclays, address on their website, with the evidence you already have, loan ref no, dates and any bank statements which show the loan direct debits and reasons it was mis-sold e.g. single front loaded premium.
If such a department actually exists. You could ask the SAR dept
It sounds as though they have provided all that can be traced from the information provided by the OP already.to look again in their microfilm archives where there might be a copy of it, but who knows, the ppi team might be able to locate something that suggests a policy existed without you having to supply the original agreement.
The bank is not required to provide anything that a reasonably competent temp without specialist knowledge of the data controller's systems could find.0 -
Odd then that your DSAR returned no evidence of you ever having PPI on the loans in question!I am 100% I was mis-sold PPI on these loans
Twenty years on, I can't see you being able to progress this without comprehensive documentary evidence from your own archive. In fact, having such documents is the only way you could accurately say that you are "100%" that you had PPI and, even then, it wouldn't necessarily mean you were mis-sold.
I agree, Banks don't need SAR departments-they just assign such duties to regular staff. Even with the vast number of PPI complaints, Banks aren't overrun with SAR letters.magpiecottage wrote: »If such a department actually exists.0
