PPI Rejected as Clydesdale bank cannot find my Account

Hi All,
I was using a company called Civil Claims, (I know should have done it myself) who were pursuing The Clydesdale bank for PPI on a loan and credit card. I phoned them yesterday to get a update as I had not heard from them in 3 months.
They informed me that the Clydesdale bank cannot find any details of my account even existing after I have given them the account number and sort code and the branch address.
Do I just accept this or can I pursue. I tried 5 years ago to claim but the bank fobbed me off with the answer that they were waiting for a high court ruling and then when I queried the result they had LOST the paperwork and I would need to make a new claim, but I had given them the original paperwork in the original claim. Do I let them win?
Thanks in advance
David
