hi
i purchased a pair of school shoes for my daughter in august and the stitching is coming away where they are stitched to the main part of the shoe.
i have the box but only half of my reciept?
selfridges are stating they need the bottom half of my reciept with theyre barcode on to issue a exchange?
also when i purchased the item they were ex display so i was given a discount am i still entitled to a exchange as the shoes have developed this fault with the stitching after i purchased them or i would not have purchased them
please can you advise
thanks
stacey

The discount is irrelevant to the SOGA so has no bearing.
Does the receipt show the product, price etc with just the barcode missing? If so then it should be taken as proof of purchase as it would be no different to having a bank statement as proof.
They may be suspicious if a receipt has mysteriously lost the only part of it that identifies the actual product and may be thinking you doctored it.0 -

Some shops also have the transaction date at the bottom of the receipt, so they might want it to prove how long it has been since the date of purchase. If this is the case then a bank/credit card statement would work in conjunction with the partial receipt.0 -
What info is actually on the bit you have?0

How do you lose half a receipt?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

the part on the reciept states the product and the amount but not the date however the payment is by debit card0

take your bank statement into the store as proof of the date of purchase.
Yes, from the portion of the receipt to do have and the date on your bank statement they should easily be able to find your transaction on their system.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
How come you only have half a receipt ?make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
