Has anyone ever been prosecuted for not paying?

All you're really doing is winding them up.

seems its a business in america making non paying bidders pay

Trouble is eBay are no longer transparent (in my eyes) about the processes for dealing with bad eBayers. You can report stuff sure, but IMHO they've made it harder to do so and you never know the outcome. I thought the more visual act of leaving negative feedback was better and more informative to the community as a whole.

I disagree. Most of my items are BINs so negative feedback left for a buyer does me no good at all as I don't see it until it is too late. Perhaps for a very small seller who sits at their PC it may be useful - but even then a snipe bidder could get in and bid at the last minute and the seller could do nothing about it

I'm much happier with being able to block serial non payers with 2 or more strikes- and a quick look at my blocked logs shows quite a few buyers blocked in the past few months

I only sell items I no longer use, as a private seller. Having a purge at the moment because I'm about to move house!
