RBS PPI claim is one general claim from enough?

Sent a claim form as recommended by Martin July 2012. Couldn't remember how many accounts etc I had but did mention a mortgage and further advance. Told them I believed I had been mis sold PPI.
They came back mentioning two account numbers and saying I had made a successful claim so no refund.
They had all my personal details ie DOB ID and old and new address.
Just assumed they were right so left it.
I had no idea how much they had churned my accounts but did know they had confused me and almost sent me into bankrupcty and made me I'll.
Two years on and I lazily gave my details to The Claims Guys. Amazing results mostly from RBS!
They are saying I should have used separate forms for all my accounts and specifically put on there I wanted them to look into ALL my accounts!
Comments and views and help please as this has cost me dear.
Thanks folks.

I would suspect that the bank rejected the complaint about PPI being miss-sold if you had actually made a claim on it - thus proving you knew about it and it was suitable for you - it may have been the case that a refund of premiums would have been less than you were paid thus you wouldn't have got anything.
Ultimately it was your choice to use a claims firm to put in the second complaint when you could have done it yourself for free so they get their cut from your winnings.Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Thanks for that but the complaint isn't about using a claims company as without them this would not have come to light. It's the fact that RBS didn't look at all the accounts which would have come up when doing a search, but only two which had paid out. They churned accounts adding lump sum PPI to all subsequen loans when clearly monthly payment ones were more suitable due to circumstances.
The fact that they say they didn't have all the account information on the form isnt acceptable as they confused the heck out of me and I had no idea what I had.0 -
It was up to you to do the research and make the individual complaints, not the Bank. The claims company obviously rectified this mistake and so the Bank paid out. Unfortunately, it was your failure to complain in a methodical manner that "cost dear".Diamond195 wrote: »It's the fact that RBS didn't look at all the accounts which would have come up when doing a search,
That's not a valid complaint, I'm afraid.Diamond195 wrote: »The fact that they say they didn't have all the account information on the form isnt acceptable as they confused the heck out of me and I had no idea what I had.
You really should not have left it to the Bank to "check" all the accounts you had forgotten about. You needed to send them a Subject Access Request (SAR) letter which, for £10, would have listed all these accounts for you then to make individual complaints about.
On a positive note, you did eventually receive (some) redress from your mis-sold PPI.0
