Compare the tariff rate with your current rate and see if you think the extra is worth betting on rising energy prices .
Currently static to slightly downward .0 -

Looks a good price key for me would be penalties for early termination in case prices dropped .0 -
I think it's £30 each0

I'd stick with the current one. They tried this one with me. You are already on a fix until Sept 2015. By changing tariff you are just throwing away that current fix of nearly 12 months for a higher unit charge. Then in 18 months time they'll probably ask you to change again to a longer fix but with a higher charge and so on and so on.0

Your bill - based on the new kwh - will increase by 16-18%. I personally think that's excessive. The price on wholesale markets has been declining and I'm not sure how much more energy companies can keep doing big price rises.0 -
I've had a similar offer, but they've given me a choice of two deals and they've given me a different unit price to the one Chris mentioned:
Current rate: No price rises for: 11 months Tariff Comparison Rate (Electricity) p/kWh 13.89 Tariff Comparison Rate (Gas) p/kWh 4.05
iSave Fixed October 2016: No price rises for: 24 months Tariff Comparison Rate (Electricity) p/kWh 16.05 Tariff Comparison Rate (Gas) p/kWh 4.40
iSave Fixed January 2018:
No price rises for: 37 months Tariff Comparison Rate (Electricity) p/kWh 16.39 Tariff Comparison Rate (Gas) p/kWh 4.56
Confusing...0 -
They are just trying it on. A cheaper short term fix is coming, so they are rounding up some mugs before releasing that one.
How high do prices have to go for this long fix to be worthwhile?0 -

That is, for electricity, 3,200 x actual unit rate plus 365 x daily standing charge then divided by 3,2000
