in Credit cards
Hi
I am considering using an online new car dealer. They buy their cars "trade" from dealers around the UK. If I pay the deposit of £500 by credit card and the rest by bank transfer will I be covered by section75 given they buy from other dealers ?
Thanks

The total cost of the car would have to be under £30,000 and you would have to pay the company selling you the car directly with the credit card.
If you buy via an intermediary website then you may find the flow of monies is broken and thus so is the protection.0 -
My understanding is the company buy from dealerships then sell on -does that make a difference?0

You need to have a contract with the company that says 'we will supply you with a car for £x'.
If the contract says 'we will help you buy a car from a dealer for £x and will pass the money on to them' - then the chain is broken.
I'm paraphrasing the contract of course - but that's the principle.
