Yorkshire bank charges PLEASE HELP/ADVICE

HI.

i have searched all posts but cant find a query similar, i applied for charges in 2006 prior test case for charges amounting to just short of 1750 and was told they were not refunding, then in 2007 i was repossesed and had to move. following tne move i was continued to be charged and heard nothing in regards to claim but had to ring as the charges where being applied monthly plus during the 8months between may2007 to dec 2007 we had fraud on the acc. The bank changed the acc number but with each month and phonecall they increased our overdraft from 100 to 1000 by sept 2009. i attempted in oct 2009 to claim charges due to financial hardship but the bank said no on the ground on transactions that they considered not in hardship even though fpr most of 2009 my husband was off work with ssp when a forklift fell on his leg part early comensation payments being what we were liviing on CAN I DO SOMETHING NOW !! yorkshire opened a readycash acc when we struggled 10 pm payment to clear od and weve not recovered since can we claim//??

    This means they felt your spending habits were not consistent with someone in hardship and that you were just living beyond your means. They normally look at your spending on direct debits, debit cards etc and if there were things like Sky TV, mobile phones and were shopping in Waitrose, Next etc then you would expect rejection.

    You had 6 months to appeal their decision following their response by referring it to the FOS. That has long gone by now. So, it is too late to appeal that.

    If you believe you are currently in financial hardship then you can ask them to consider your current financial position. They will then look at your current circumstances and decide if they wish to offer a range of solutions (which can include some refund of charges but can also include things that do not result in a refund. e.g. suspending future charges for 6 months)
