Reclaiming Lloyds bank charges

Evening all
Ive sent a letter to reclaim these charges and I've now received a letter saying they want to discuss my concerns. I don't particularly want to talk over the phone about this as I'd prefer it to be in writing. Theyve written me 2 letters, one on 1st Oct asking I contact them by the 10th (which I ignored) then today I received another asking for my call by the 28th.
Has anybody else had this from Lloyd's? It seems to me (I could be wrong) that they're going to try and get out of this.
Advice would be welcome.
Thank you
Trish

If you want it in writing then the Bank will do so, but it will take far longer for likely the same result. Are you in financial hardship? If not, there is little point in continuing at all. If so, you'll need to show this to the Bank. Are you living constantly in your overdraft and struggling to pay essential bills? Are you caught in a cycle of charges ?I don't particularly want to talk over the phone about this as I'd prefer it to be in writing.
There is little point ignoring their letters..0 -
I was simply ignoring the letters as thought thats their way of not paying.
I'm claiming for the years I WAS in financial hardship - they would take my IS and use it to pay the overdraft, which meant I was o/d again so used credit card! That was my cycle0 -
Since the bank won the court case on charges they are hardly trying to get out of this. If you are not presently in hardship you are unlikely to get anything back. Your best chance is to be as co-operative as possible.0

The guy, Oliver, took them to court and won when he was no longer in hardship. Surely they can't pay out for one but not another especially with the same bank?!0

Every case is decided on it's own merits. In what way are your circumstances in any way similar to the customer who went to court? You don't even want to speak to them on the 'phone, let alone take them to court! The guy, Oliver, took them to court and won when he was no longer in hardship. My reason for not talking on the phone is simply I'd rather anything they have to say to me is in writing! Surely you can understand that?
Reading Oliver's story we were both caught in a no-win situation. My situation was so bad I had to ask DWP to send me a cheque to stop Lloyds taking it leaving me with no money to feed my daughter!0 -

There is no requirement for them to refund charges and no-one can force them. So, there is no reason for them to try and get out of it.
You are just making it harder for them to resolve it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
I WILL ring Lloyd's.....0
