Purpose of Feedback?

Hi,

Had a look around FAQ on Ebay but its very vague.

I have a seller asking to resolve a sale. I left a neutral on the basis the product (which I have bought before from the same seller) was not of as good a quality as previously supplied.

To me it seems fair as the product quality is part of the overall transaction so if I am not fully satisfied then I can reflect it in my rating. I stated why it was a neutral in my feedback comment.

They are offering to send me a replacement but if its the same as recently sent it won't 'resolve' my issue as its method of construction is inherently inferior to before and quite poor generally.

Do sellers expect the feedback to only be on the purchase aspect, communications, delivery time and such or can feedback be scored on the actual product?

It's only fair to allow the seller the try and resolve the issue first before you put in the neutral feedback ! If you had one before then maybe this was a rogue batch - did you bother to raise the issue first before you put on your neutral feedback ?

Bad show on your part if you didn't

If after raising the issue - the seller failed to make good - the neutral is fair but not if they never had a chance !

I wouldn't worry if I were you. Most people know that fb is pretty much pointless now and don't pay much attention to it.
