Has anyone been successful in moving completion date earlier than seller sets?

So despite the sellers telling me they were in hurry to move i've been given a completion date of 3rd Nov! I've told their side I want it sooner (ideally by next Fri) - hoping they will accomodate but this entire experience I've quite literally had to jump to their tune!

Assuming you haven't exchanged yet, then you could threaten to pull out if they don't complete next friday?
It's quite nice having a bit of time between exchange and completion.
Why don't you want to complete on the 3rd Nov?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Assuming there are no practical constraints (like the solicitors / mortgage comps need longer) - it's purely down to negotiation.
Whoever negotiates best wins!
Is there a chain above your seller? If so, they have to agree as well.
It sounds like you haven't exchanged yet. So I'm guessing that deciding the completion date is the final hurdle. (You can try holding exchange up until they agree to your completion date. It may work, but you'll probably make some enemies along the way!)0 -
The seller does not 'set' the Completion date.
The Completion date is negotiated and agreed.0 -
