Well, hold onto your seat..... I have had some sales. Not as many as I was getting, about 50% less, but better than the 10% it was.

Rather interestingly my door is now red on My eBay and, on my items, when I hover over it, it no longer says 'eBay shop' but my shop name.

There is definitely some switching on and off going on.
  • Personally, I would say messing around with holiday settings etc, is only going to worsen the problem. Think about it. Google doesn't like showing results which lead to items which no longer exist (dead links) and does everything it can to drop these. It's then going to take a while again to re-cache your items. So why would turning on your holiday settings and on again do any good?

Because they are no longer found in Google anyway Brian. If I put it into Google shopping it does not find any of mine (or my competitors!!) eBay or website stuff at all - and this is where most of my traffic came from.

When Google Ads was bought in and, pretty much became mandatory if you wanted to' sell' via Google Shopping, my site died a death overnight and so I went back onto eBay as it was cheaper to list there than on Google. The ad price is set on a CPC fee and, being realistic, £10 a day (£300 a month) would be gone within a few hours per day and then your site is turned off again until your daily allowance comes back into play the next day. Also, the more you pay, the higher up the list of results you come so 1p CPC isn't going to get me anywhere. I need to set up around 300 'ads' to cover the things I sell - it simply is not possible for me to do this and for my site to be visible 24/7.

However, eBay was fine as my stuff appeared on Google shopping when it was listed. Now it does not. The only retailers coming up are the big ones like Very, Isme, JD Williams, etc..

And now - while I sit here typing this, I am fuming as I've found Amazon are selling the same items I do for less than my cost. There are also other retailers selling on there, not as cheap as Amazon themselves are doing them, but still cheaper. Last week I was implicitly told by the supplier that no-one could sell these specific ranges on Amazon or eBay.

Seriously considering jacking this in now I am afraid to say. I have so much more I can be doing with my life, but the worry is getting rid of the stock I have accumulated in the meantime. I've got a little B&M pop up store which is building slowly despite no advertising, but people are going to get tired of seeing the same stock, eBay gave me some stock turnover so I could order in as people wanted it and sell what they did not want - however, this is no longer happening anyway.

Just very fed up now. Sorry to go on, as I say, while I can moan to my friends and family they do not get the online market at all while people here have some understanding.
