Mbna ppi advise

Hi, first time poster so please be gentle. Just after some advise. I held a mbna credit card with PPI. I wrote to them in 2012 and they issued a final response letter saying no misselling took place. Due to family circumstances at the time, I filed the letter away. Early this year i relooked at the response and noted a few points which clearly noted miselling, so I went to the FO but due to time that has passed, they could not help me. I tried again this month due to the press saying cases were being reopen and asked mbna to reopen, however I have received a letter today stating that as the fo could not help me mbna stand by final letter and will not reopen case. I believe I do have a case, but believe I have now hit a brick wall. Any advise would be great.

Not really much we can give I am afraid. If they stand by their decision then it's pretty well game over. You don't say what your family circumstances were, but FOS will only look at it if they consider that it constituted exceptional circumstances I.e a reason why you could not have been expected to refer it within the six month time frame. Even then, you'd probably have trouble explaining away the two years that have passed since.

I think you need to move on from this once and for all. You've now tried complaining on three separate occasions.

Your complaint ended in failure in 2012 and looking back at the paperwork now will only make you bitter and resentful.

Do note that it's entirely possible that FOS could have agreed with the Bank if you had managed a referral within the six months.
