For me probably about 6 hours (maybe 8) in Ultima Online back in about 2000, but that was a very rare occurrence and included several short breaks for potty/provisions, and wasn't constant clicking (at the time I was in a guild that did some minor events, so there were chunks of time when I'd be logged in but just watching).

More typically I spend an hour or less at a time playing a game, and actively get put off games where you have to play for 30-45 minutes or more before you can save your progress (I love Dead Island but the time between saves stopped me playing for longer).

I've never understood how, or why people would spend the 4-8 hours repeatedly doing raids in things like WoW where it was practically mandatory to do so to get certain items, as that would not be fun for me (not to mention the issues of RSI, eyestrain etc).

Not sure of the exact time, but it was roughly 36 hours.

Halo 2, first time playing online (didn't have internet growing up, so went over to a friends for the weekend to play online the first weekend after release).

Edit: and yes, that was 36 hours straight - eating and playing at the same time, few minutes for toilet breaks etc - I was so hooked I still didn't feel tired even after all that time... until I came off and after an hour not playing the tiredness hit me like a truck.

About 8 hours on Borderlands, probably done the same on MW2 and versions of Fifa.
  • Probably 6 hours - on Elite or Fallout 3 most probably! Nowadays I have less time and gaming is played in short bursts.

Same issue for me. I hate Borderland's save system where I battle my way through enemy after enemy for half an hour but if I run out of time and come back another day I have to start the whole area from scratch.

26 hours.... Super Mario on the SNES.

Regularly spent 6-8 hour sessions on Bubble Bobble on the C64 as well. Only because it took so long to load it due to the flaky cassette players they shipped

Been known to have all night sessions on CoD on release night before. Although I have played Ghosts about 3 times since buying it. That was the end of my FPS escapades.

Will now happily play World of Tanks for several hours at a time, and will also do the same with DOTA2. Lots of coffee and toilet breaks though, as the games themselves only last ~15mins each.

30-something hours on I believe it'd be something like Football/Championship Manager around 2003ish, with breaks only to go to the loo & grab something to eat.

Sessions of 12+ hrs are not unheard of either, World of Warcrack has done that to me on several occasions!

  • Everquest, playing non-stop except for sleep (and toilet breaks!) for two weeks during Easter. My housemates had gone "home" for the holiday, I'd awaken, log in, around 10pm realise I was extremely hungry, order a large kebab combo to be delivered, keep playing. I kept playing during a third week, but I was dragged outside by friends a few times, where I'd offer to cast Spirit of Wolf on people to increase their run-speed for 40 minutes in exchange for donations (just a couple of silver pieces would have been fine). Even ended up with a T-shirt that read "Got SoW?"

Cheaper than a two-week drinking bender, at least. :)

My son and I stayed up all night playing Ghost Recon : Island Thunder.

2x TVs & 2x Xboxes ... He was 14 and it was a weekend (before someone rings the NSPCC lol)

It was a great gaming memory, playing as a team co-op.

I need to be in bed by 10pm now though :D and he's 25 so probably has better things to do nowadays.
