Hai Everyone.......
I heard there are two different types....one uses external power and the other one just works with USB!
Please suggest and is there any good Hard Drives available on the Market?
Your help is much appreciated:o

How much data do you need to store?
Do you want access to it when your pc is off? (for example using a Network Attached Hard Drive so it connects to your network if you have one setup)
But most importantly the first bit..

The usb powered drives tend to be based on a 2.5" (laptop) hard drive as they run on 5v where desktop drives run on 12v and the USB port can supply 5v but not 12v.
The problem there is that 2.5" drives have alimited capacity up to 160GB I think the last time I looked where desktop drives can be huge. as to which is better 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. if the capacity is ok for you,0 -
Serious storage space on the cheap, 3.5" with external power

Modest storage space on the move 2.5" powered by USB.
