Miss sold ?

can anyone please help ?
my partner took his parents to Currys yesterday to buy a new cooker they CLEARLY told the sales staff they would like the Zanussi electric oven 550mm wide that they had on show but in white

we have a photo of the price label on the cooker with the option to have it in white BUT there is no mention of an extra charge

they paid the £499.99 cost plus an extra £22 for speedy delivery

when they got home my partner checked the receipt and the order number didn't look right so he checked and discovered that the sales person had ordered them a 600mm wide cooker

when he returned to the shop to point out their error they charged him an extra £100 they also would not price match it even though their promise states "The competitor’s product must be brand new, identical to ours, and offered on the same terms" AO.com has the identical cooker but a different product number THE COOKERS ARE THE SAME I even phoned Zanuissi to check

my question is . . .

as they never stated at point of sale that the 550mm cooker that had been asked for would be £100 extra (we would have purchased it from AO.com at this point if we had known) are we entitled to ask for the £100 back from them for misleading and miss selling the cooker ?

thank you

Price match is a con, the different product numbers are their get out.

The same tactic is used by all the big retailers from cookers to mattresses, same product different number.

These companies are that big they just get the manufacturers to give them an exclusive number and hey presto price match rejected.

As for the £100 unless you can prove you were mis sold either take the hit or cancel the order.

Looks like the stainless steel is £499 and the white and the black are £599
When is it due to be delivered?
maybe they will give you the option to refund and you can go buy it elsewhere...although I expect the best time to negotiate this would have been before handing over the additional money
I can't see you getting them to discount the cooker by £100
