The parcel firm will have a pod and gprs details where the scanner wasDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Not always, the scanners do fail and they end up using paper sometimesSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I had a similar problem with Asda's creation card where someone used my card details to book flights worth of 2500GBP from a travel company located in Greece.
I lodged a fraud complaint and CC company came back and said, nope all is good as the person who purchased the flights had my details.
I disputed this again and asked for proof of delivery, date of purchase and more information about the merchant as all I could find was a greece outfit trading under various names.
CC Card company gave me the details and the day I apparently made that purchase, I was actually abroad on a motorbike with friends. Supplied proof of ferry ticket, fuel receipt from the date from abroad and again disputed the transaction.
It took 3.5 months but in the end it got refunded and needless to say I cancelled the card due to the crap customer service and me having to proof everything and doing all the leg work.
Anyway, best I can suggest:
1. Do everything in writing, not phone calls or emails or if you call, follow up with a letter.
2. As the goods came from the US, there should be a paper trail from the company who have send the goods and the delivery company as products would have been subject to import duties. That way you should be able to start tracking entry point, i.e. airport/port and with all this papertrail there should be a definite delivery address available (as buyer will have to be able to proof that import duties were cleared)
if it really is causing you sleepless nights and you constantly in tears its time to take action to prove its a fraud transaction.

i've been looking at forum's like these and i don't think how the banks process. All banks will dispute transaction in the same way as they have to follow matercard, via and amex regulation. There's no way around these. It doesn't matter how long you've been a customer for.... Banks will always go on your word at first point of the dispute. When the temporary credit is applied it allows time for the merchant to disagree with the banks decision and provide evidence... which if this evidence is given the bank have to re-debit the transaction no matter what!0

Hi Jupz,
l have had a similar experience to yours although this was to do with a hotel in Malaysia, but booked through hotels.com, who confirmed my booking then the next day cancelled it but still withdrew money from my account.
Lyoyds have never replied to my emails, but on my return there was a letter saying that although they had refunded my money, after talking with Hotels.com they were going to re-debit my account !
l am now in talks/emails ect with both Lloys and Hotels. Lloyds have now told me that l can take this further, which l fully intend to do, and that l have until the 30 th April to do this.
l think they will be sending out forms --- whether these will be " internal" forms, just from the debit dept or forms from the financial Services Ombudsman l don`t know yet, but l will be ringing them this afternoon to clarify that.
Depending on what these forms are and what they can achieve, l will come to a decision to either use them or contact the Financial Services Ombudsman directly to request a complaints form from them.
l have not beenimpressed at all with lloyds handling of my case, far too slow and UNcommunicative for my liking, and l will change my bank soon because of this.
lf the ombudsman can`t help l will take legal advice, l have a legal add on to my insurance so that is always a big help.
I strongly advise you to do the same, ask to be put through to the debit card disputes dep first and if you are not satisfied INSIST on speaking to a manager or team leader, and DON`T be fobbed off, that is YOUR RIGHT and never forget that.
Get everything in writing, keep bothering them till you get what you want, and if it is really going nowhere then contact the Financial Services Ombudsman, they are usually very good, but NEVER, EVER give up, that is the key !!
l wish you well with it and regards to your mum too. All the best.
ps please feel free to reply any time.0 -
