Wow! That is more sense than they usually show.

Well done though. :) Hopefully that is the end of it.

Might not be if they just pass it to another collector. If they do I would be prepared to write direct to HPH reading them the riot act as well.

Hopefully HPH will get the message though and not try anything so stupid.

  • Hopefully that's that...the amount due is zero and he didn't owe anything in the first place, the only thing we think it could have been was the Provident loan took out in 1998/1999 for £100 which was paid in full...even if it hadn't been paid, surely it would be too late to chase it up it being 15 years ago?!
  • No apology though.
  • Nah, they wont appologise.

But do keep that letter they sent as you will need to send copies to the next DCA who have been given the lemon to chase.

I don't know how long it took you to type this but you will never, ever get that time back in your life.

3 minutes. 172 posts v 13,000 posts, I've still got a long way to catch up, but I aim to get there before I retire :rotfl::rotfl:

To OP. Always document everything. Keep a ring binder, but also make electronic PDF copies of all correspondence. Some may trip up and go along with statements made by an additional DCA later down the line, when all paperwork has been thrown out thinking it's over. Nonetheless, I would be seeking an apology at the very least, a cash settlement at the most

Good luck,. This was before Christmas, so I hope this horrible ordeal may finally over for you
