It isn't helped by constantly hearing about global growth fears and faltering recoveries over the last few days.

Maybe it's perverse but I've found this recent fall quite encouraging, exciting even. It's a much needed shake up imho and hopefully the beginning of normal service slowly being resumed after a ridiculous era of central bank interference with ZIRP and truly staggering sums of money for nothing "asset purchases" pumped into financial institutions who've used it to fuel a speculation bonanza.

The prospect of averaging down inflated investment valuations, quite significantly in some cases, over the next few months and hopefully year or two will be something to look forward to and on a much longer time scale this drop will most likely disappear within the ebb and flow.

I've asked myself if I'd be happier with my current investments as bank tickets or equities and the answer for me is equities without any doubt, even a huge drop from here won't change that view.

That said I am also trying to build a bigger cash buffer alongside in readiness for the really big one.
