Hi
Looking for some advice I only work 18hours a week and on low income my partner receives a war disablement pension and is classed as incapacitated he cannot work. We recently applied for housing benefit and two benefit calcualtors informed us we would receive full housing benefit, our claim was rejected due to his army pension saying we have too much money I was under the impression that a war disablement pension was disregarded as income for housing benefit? we are going to appeal as we have a letter from the veterans agency confimring that it is a tax free pension that should not be included as income. has anyone else had any problems with a war disablement pension and housing benefit claim?
thanks

Not all LAs disregard the full WDP, they do not have to. Have you asked your LA their policy?0
