The green levies go towards making homes more energy efficient meaning less consumption Thus less demand thus more surplus energy thus lower fuel bills for everyone!
People are often too shortsighted to see the wider benefits of government initiatives and can barely see the hand in front of their own face.
And a lot of the Eco work is not means tested so any one can benefit, and has allowed landlords to make improvements to their house in stock with minimal cost meaning better living conditions for the tenants better roi for landlords.
I have flipped 15 houses at almost no cost, and upgraded almost my whole btl portfolio at zero cost, insulated my listed house, earn income from rhi and fit from the renewables I have fitted in my own and tenanted property all by taking advantage of the green levies.
This has created nice living conditions/upgraded old housing stock, created jobs and given me a load of cash to waste on random materialistic c**p
so every one can benefit from them, it is just being clever and quick enough"talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0 -
As one of the thousands of people who have to buy their electricity through a management company (mobile home park) we are charged a premium for our electricity but there won't be any rebate for us.0

Anyone had their rebate taken away?
It looks like customers (all? some?) with Extra Energy had their October 2014 rebate reversed yesterday on their accounts!0 -
Having received the £12 rebate in October last year, I have just discovered that ExtraEnergy my supplier has debited the £12 in March.
I'm on a fixed (green) tariff until September 2015, so what's going on. Are they allowed to do that?0 -
They've said it was done in error. No info on when it will be put back in. . .0
