Switching Question - How soon can you switch again?

Hi.

About 3 months ago I switched to the Halifax current account after being enticed by their £100 offer.

Now I really do not like the service (I make many transfers and almost every time a transfer is over £500 I have to call them and go through so much security), I never had this problem with Barclays.

Now my question - Am I able to switch current accounts right now without them claiming their £100 back? I have tried to look for the terms and conditions for the offer but can't find anything. I've had the account about 3 months and would be transferring all direct debits ect to the new account.

Thanks

Click 'More information about the £100 switching offer'.

However, why not register a complaint with them and see what they can do about it before jumping ship and (presumably) losing the ongoing £5 a month Reward?

But if you really can't be bothered, then the answer to your thread title question is...'immediately'!

Yes you can transfer it if you want to. But be warned, it is often a problem moving your own money these days, no matter which bank you're with.

I've noticed it is a particular problem with Lloyds and it seems especially problemous when the payee is a new payee, even if that new payee is yourself at another bank!

It's impossible to know who is the actual payee as only the sort code and the account number matter; the name isn't being checked.

It's not a huge problem, it's so small that it's hardly worth mentioning. More often than not, the money gets transferred straight away. In some cases, transfers to new payees are subject to extra checks but the money will arrive by the end of the next business day unless the bank detects fraud.

Yes, that's valid for sure. Only the other day I made a small payment to myself and I misspelled my own surname, yet the payment arrived where it should!
