Advice regarding sec75.

Can some one help advice please.
A few years ago a paid a deposit on an off plan property investment abroad,via an english company at a seminar.

I paid with a credit card cheque a deposit of £1000,my question is this does section 75 regarding cards goods and services apply too card cheques as well as the card itself.??

    The answer is no.

    The cheque is considered a cash transaction and therefore not covered by S75.
    Optimists see a glass half full :)
    Pessimists see a glass half empty :(
    Engineers just see a glass twice the size it needed to be :D
  • A) No because a cheque isnt covered

    B) Its the total value of the item that counts and presumably this is above the £30,000 limit for S75?

    C) I seem to recall that property is excluded from S75, but happy to stand corrected on this one
