Advice on tablet for OU and other stuff

Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what would be better for OU studies. I am thinking along the lines of a Kindle ot Hudl.

I don't really like Apple products and are out of my price range.
I DO NOT like the Windows 8 on my laptop and can't seem to view my OU online materials in either Epub or Kindle.mobi apps.
Besides I would like something lighter I can take to bed and read or watch the online materials and still be able to make notes.

I am interested in using a tablet to stream to a second screen and read that the Kindle does this with Samsung smart tv's.
My tv is just missing the wi-fi function and can buy an adapter for £30, or I could choose a Miracast adapter (as per Amazon help) but I can't seem to find out if the Chromecast would work with my laptop, tv and Kindle/Hudl?

I have read that the Hudl is quite good too and wondered if this would be able to stream to my tv? as well as work for my OU materials?

I cannot seem to understand the choices any further than this at the moment and need to make a decisions soon...

So wondered if anyone has any experience or understanding and could guide me further?

How do you anticipate doing your TMAs on a tablet?
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Why not contact the OU IT access team? they will advise you best.

But as an aside, I would not recommend doing TMAs on a tablet. I struggle to do them on a laptop sometimes because of the different bits and bobs that need putting in (I'm on a business degree) but my last EMA had 9 screenshots.
  • I am not planning to do the TMA's on a tablet. I much prefer to type on the laptop and submit that way. I am after a tablet in addition so I carry it around with my material i.e in bed. I mentioned streaming as an another use. The formats of the OU materials are either ePub or Kindle.
I just wonder which one will be most useful?
